Meet the Production Team

Imani Bazzell has served as an alternating panelist, host and producer of Black Perspectives since its inception in the summer of 1998. Currently, Imani serves as the primary host and producer of the show. She also works as Acting Director, Center for Education, Youth Development, and Family Support; Urban League of Champaign County; Grant Coordinator, Community Education Department, Parkland College; and Founder and Director of SisterNet, a local Black Women's Health Network.

Shawyn Williams is the new Associate Producer of Black Perspectives. She is also a Ph. D student in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Research Assistant at the Center on Democracy in a Multiracial Society and Associate Producer of the Our Journey: Stories of School Desegregation in Champaign-Urbana Project.
