Gifts made to the newly created WILL Future Fund will be held in perpetuity and wisely invested at the University of Illinois Foundation. Donors may direct gifts to WILL-AM, WILL-FM or WILL-TV, or an combination of the three. Each year, a portion of the income from the dollars invested will be deposited into the Friends of WILL account, which supports general operating expenses at the stations. Income earned over and above the yearly gift to the Friends of WILL will be re-invested in the fund. So a "Friend Forever" provides permanent support for WILL, support that will be there even if other sources of revenue temporarily decline.

WILL’s Future Fund is created as a quasi-endowment. The capital invested in the fund is intended to accumulate and add to the station’s strong financial foundation. However, the quasi-endowment arrangement would allow station managers to request that all or part of the capital be spent in the event of some future urgent need at the stations.
