AUNT ANNA’S ORANGE RAISIN CAKE

Cream
the following ingredients together:
Sift
the following ingredients together:

cups of flour

tsp. of baking powder

tsp. of baking soda

¼
tsp. of salt
Grind
the following ingredients together:

whole orange peels
-
1
cup raisins
Add 1
cup of chopped nuts to the orange peel and raising.
Save
the juice of 1 orange.
Mix
the flour mixture into the liquid mixture. Add ½ of the
orange/raisin/nut mixture.
Put
into greased, not floured pan and bake for 30 minutes at 350
degrees.
When
done, pour orange juice over cake while hot.
Icing:
Mix
remaining orange/raisin/nut mixture with:
Frost
the cake while warm.
POUND CAKE
Preheat oven to 350°. In a bowl
combine milk, eggs, and vanilla. In a large mixing bowl combine
flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Next add the butter and
half of the egg mixture. Mix at low speed until it’s moist and
then increase speed. Scrape down sides and add the remaining
egg mixture. Pour batter into a prepared pan and smooth surface
with a spatula. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes (only 35 to 45 in
fluted tube pan).
BETTY CROCKER 7 MINUTE FROSTING
Combine the following in the top of a double boiler:

egg whites

cups sugar

¼
tsp. cream of tartar

1/3 cup water
Place
over boiling water and beat with a rotary beater until mixture
holds its shape. Then add 1½ tsps.
of vanilla.
APPLESAUCE CAKE

cups unsifted flour
-
1
Tbsp. baking soda
-
1
cup sugar
-
3
eggs (beaten)
-
1
lb. can applesauce
-
1
cup oil
-
2
cups nuts
-
2
cups boiled raisins
Place
mixture in well greased 9 x 13 inch pan and bake for 35-40
minutes at 350 degrees.
